Happy New Year Nails!

I got inspired by a bunch of photos on pinterest (come visit me!) I was going for a glitter gradient type mani on deep blue/cobalt. Then I realized I don't really know how to do a good glitter gradient and I (shockingly) don't own a deep cobalt (at least I don't think I do!). So, I went with deep shimmery blue and metallic polka dots using my dotting tool and some toothpicks!

My husband thought it came out more like fish scales (which he thought was a compliment because he loves everything to do with fishing) and after second thought he's right! I love it even though it wasn't quite what I was going for!

Color of the Year!

I'm glad to see Emerald was the "color of the year". Green is one of my favorite colors. I love Ciate, but they are a little pricey which was why I was pretty excited when I found this kit at TJ Maxx for $10.00!

I was supposed to be Christmas shopping for other people, but there's no harm in picking up a little something for myself, right!?
The "sequins" in this kit, is really more like big pieces of glitter and I couldn't get the look on the box no matter how hard I tried, but I was happy with what I came up with. I got a lot of compliments.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I've been wanting this for awhile now.

I grabbed it yesterday as a little Valentine's Day present to myself!
It's really cool! I love all the different glitter colors and shapes. The pink is see through.

This is about 3 coats of Girly. with one coat of Gelous and one of Seche Vite.

Feeling Festive!

L.A. Girl Glitter Addict in Celebrate

I think I bought this at Rite Aid a few months ago. I was saving it for July 4th (I think). But, wow, it's really awesome!
This is over a Orly's Bombay Saphire. The glitter is suspended in a clear base. But there are are red, silver and at least two different blue colors of glitter in thee. Very fun! Definitely a celebratory glitter!

Almost the 4th!

Kleancolor: Fireworks over Kleancolor Bite Me
 How cool is this glitter?
Kleancolor does some seriously awesome glitters. This doesn't look great in the bottle, but it's pretty awesome on the nail. There is a lot of gold glitter mixed with red and blue. Perfect for the 4th!

Glitter Sandwich!

Misa's "A Sin Worth Committing"
Gets a little more special with some glitter sandwiched in the middle.

One thin layer of A Sin Worth Committing, one layer of Afternoon Picnic which is suspended in a sort of clear-teal base.

That's one layer of Afternoon Picnic there on my thumb.

I love how this turned out!

Two Glitters Side by Side

I thought these were kind of alike, until I put them side by side. Nothing similar going on here!
Both of these are over Wet-n-Wild I need a Refreshmint.
Pointer and Pinky - Spoiled: Pet My Peacock
Middle and Ring - Kleancolor: Afternoon Picnic
Two coats of each.

Peacock is actually pretty dense. It's different colored hex and round glitters suspended in a clear polish.

Afternoon Picnic is a whole bunch of different shaped and colored glitter pieces suspended in a clear-tealish color polish. It looks like a party in a bottle! It's definitely more green and blue oriented with some silver.
Spoiled is a lot of green, blue, gold, solver and even some lavendar glitter.

Verdict: Nothing alike!
If I had to get rid of one: If I HAD to, it wold be the Spoiled, but I wouldn't be happy about it.

My version of the "Indian Summer" nail.

I saw this idea on Sephora's site, but it used the $30 $OPI gold flaky polish. This glitter was close enough for me.
For some reason Zoya Caprice came out a little more orange than it looks in the bottle. I'm not sure if I needed to shake it up better, or if that's just how it is.

Either way, I'm happy with how this turned out!

ORLY: Sashay My Way - golden goodness!

I'm not going to lie, I stole this idea from something I saw on Sephora's website.
I really liked the idea of the gold glittery pieces on a white background. It felt very summery and fresh to me. Orly has these Fx glitters paired with black polish, but I think the white is more fun!
I can't decide if the name is cute or ridiculous!
There is something for everyone here! Bar glitter, holo glitter, hex glitter, regular glitter - you name it, this is a party in a bottle!
Sally's is charging $8.99 for these, which I personally think is a bit steep for Orly. I would have bought the green glitter too, but didn't feel like spending $20 in glitter polish! Not in one trip anyway.
BTW, the white underneath is plain old Sinful polish. Nothin fancy!
