Late to the Holiday Party

OPI - "Brand New Skates" I picked this up before Chirstmas at my local grocery store of all places. I didn't get to try it until recently though.
It's so pretty, yet kind of understated too. I got tons of compliments on it. It's a very pretty steely grey shimmer with a strong golden flash to it.

There are also glass-like flecks of blue and gold in there. Totally gorgeous!

I also picked up "Smitten with Mittens" and tried a little Konad on it. I swear the manicure came out better than this picture describes! Smitten is more of a garnet red with golden glass fleck to it. This pictures makes it look cherry red, and it's really not, (at least to my eyes). The Konad is China Glaze in 24Kt (one of the 2009 Khrome colors). I thought I was going to end up getting rid of all my Konad stuff and lately I've been doing better with it! The "manicure saver" claw thingie from Sally's beauty has been a huge help!

Sapphire in the Snow

I LOVED this color. But for some reason it applied really sloppily. Sorry about that. Probably user error, I don't hold it against the polish!

SitS doesn't really look like sapphire to me, but it's a pretty deep, blurply cream color. Really pretty!

Then, of course, I had to add a little Merry Midnight over it. Isn't that pretty!

I think here I was trying to show that at certain angles there is glitter in there that flashes green.

Merry Midnight is just amazing. It layers really nicely over anything! Whoops! This was supposed to be a post about Sapphire in the Snow, wasn't it!?

OPI - Holiday Glow

This was a bit of a disappointment to me. The glitter doesn't do much and it's kind of just a dark brown. Not as impressive as Merry Midnight or Shim-Merry Chic or even Sapphire in the Snow.

I'm with Brad starring Merry Midnight tips...

I've been obsessed with Merry Midnight lately.
"I'm with Brad" wasn't quite what I hoped it would be.

I thought it needed something a little "extra".

I really loved how this came out and wore it for about 4 days, a long time for me!

I don't think these pictures quite captured how awesome this mani was! But, I tried. Now I want to try Merry Midnight tips on every polish I have!

A trip to Ulta

I went in search of the Ulta Exclusives. Visons of Sugarplum. I wasn't sure if I realllly needed another purple, but once I got there, it's so pretty! I also got Dazzled by Gold from the Ulta Exclusive OPI's. Dreaming of Red was there and was also pretty, but I wanted Sapphire in the Snow from the Holiday OPI's. Plus the holiday displays were picked over! I got the last bottle of Sapphire in the Snow. OPI was on sale buy 2 get 1.

Dazzled by Gold!

Ring finger has one coat of Misa Dirty Sexy Money with Dazzled over it.
DbG reminded me a lot of Wet n Wild Craze "Shield" because it has very fine glittery copper and silvery bits. But it's a much deeper, richer gold than shield. It's really gorgeous. Perfect for the Holidays!
There are no pictures of SitS because I can't get the bottle open! I guess there is a reason it was the last one there! I left it on my husband's end table, but so far he hasn't taken the hint.
