Happy New Year Nails!

I got inspired by a bunch of photos on pinterest (come visit me!) I was going for a glitter gradient type mani on deep blue/cobalt. Then I realized I don't really know how to do a good glitter gradient and I (shockingly) don't own a deep cobalt (at least I don't think I do!). So, I went with deep shimmery blue and metallic polka dots using my dotting tool and some toothpicks!

My husband thought it came out more like fish scales (which he thought was a compliment because he loves everything to do with fishing) and after second thought he's right! I love it even though it wasn't quite what I was going for!

New Camera...and Nfu-Oh 51 over Kinky in Helsinki

I finally got a new camera. I think I'm going to keep this one. But I've been having trouble getting used to the settings. See above...
 Not bad.
 Getting better...
This is O.P.I. Kinky in Helsinky with a layer of Nfu 51 flakies. Pretty!
And I just thought this was pretty too!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
I couldn't decide between all the Christmas polishes I pulled out what I wanted to wear, so I gave my basket of polish to my husband. He pulled out the China Glaze, "Party Hearty". I told him it needed something under it, so he pulled out the Nfu-Oh silver.
I think it turned out really nice!

Just the right amount of Christmassy for me! What colors did you pull out for the holidays?

Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow

I finally got my hands on Nfu-Oh 60. Looking at it I new it would look great with a deep, dark green...
And I remembered Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow sitting in my untried pile!

Somehow, I didn't do this totally awesome combo justice. I got bubbles in it for some weird reason. I swear it looked so much cooler in person.

I loved this, it was a really fun weekend mani!

Cherry Tobacco

My love for Diamond Cosmetics is well documented...I think.
I treated myself to a few beauties for them before Christmas.
The first one I dug into "New Year's Week" was Cherry Tobacco -
Behold!

Pretty! Similar to $OPI "I'm with Brad" but I liked this one a lot more for some reason. Maybe it has something to do with it being $2.00 vs. $OPI's $9?

Oh, then of course I added Nfu-Oh #51 flakies.

Why? Because they are awesome!

More Christmas Swatches!

The stuff with holo glitter in it is really hard to capture on film!

I added some nfu-oh flakies to this, but it was hard to tell.

Rescue Beauty Lounge - "Black Russian"

Very pretty and glowy. I little more black than I thought. The red shimmery glitter didn't "pop" on the nail as much as it does in the bottle. I still loved it though!

China Glaze Emerald Sparkle with Nfu-Oh #40 flakies on top.

Swoon!

Look how blue the flakies shimmer!

Then I tried one of my kaliedascopes that I hadn't worn yet.

Happy Thanksgivng!

Today, I have some more "lost" files. These were taken over the summer, but I don't think I ever posted them. OPI - "Barefoot in Barcelona" my favorite nude EVER! This made my top 20. I love it!

This was Essie "Greenport" with Nfu-Oh "40" on the tips. I wasn't crazy about it for some reason, but now I think in the pictures it looks kinda neat.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving, filled with good food and good company. I am hosting my first Thanksgiving, and I'm a little nervouse about how things will turn out! My sister-in-law traditionally hosts Thanksgiving and she has set a very high standard!

Comparison Swatches!

Here we have 4 lovely shades of blue-green gorgeousness! Sinful "See You Soon" WnW Craze "Morbid" Barielle Shades "Blackened Blue" and Sinful "What's Your Name".
Similar...yes, but you can see they are all very different. Morbid seems to have more green. "See You Soon" and "Blackened Blue" are the closest, but the Barielle has way more shimmer to it, (even though it's hard to tell from my unholy slopped on mess -sorry!) "What's Your Name" is very thin and watery. This is probably 3 coats.

Then for fun, I added some flakies, cause let's admit it, flakies make everything prettier!

All of them in the sun.
