Jolly Holly

Since it's still close to Christmas, and I resent having Night Court the Monday after Christmas,
I'm wearing Jolly Holly! It's really pretty! Actually feels kind of glamorous and I usually don't like dark greens on my hands that much.

I can't remember what red was the base color. Something OPI holidayish I think.
But it's Sally Hansen's hidden treasure on top.

Ready for Snowmen?

These are so cute. But the first time I saw it, I passed. Then I thought about the red holo and how neat it looked. But when I went to the same Rite Aid, all the red holos were gone. Now, I had to have it!
2 or 3 Rite Aids later I found one lone bottle.

The worst part is, I didn't like it that much on the nail! For starters this is 4 coats and there is still VNL. The red (which was hard to capture on film) was a lot lighter on the nail than it was in the bottle. I did enjoy the mellow holo glitter that peeked out in the sunshine.

More Christmas Swatches!

The stuff with holo glitter in it is really hard to capture on film!

I added some nfu-oh flakies to this, but it was hard to tell.

Very pretty and glowy. I little more black than I thought. The red shimmery glitter didn't "pop" on the nail as much as it does in the bottle. I still loved it though!

China Glaze Emerald Sparkle with Nfu-Oh #40 flakies on top.

Swoon!

Look how blue the flakies shimmer!

Then I tried one of my kaliedascopes that I hadn't worn yet.

Christmas Inspired Tips

I had a bad day last Thursday, so to cheer myself up, I cam home and did something a little festive!
I don't have the steadiest hand, so I was pretty proud of my work here! Although, you can see on some of my fingers where I didn't wait for the Emerald Sparkle to dry enough before I swiped on my top coat...oops.

Then Friday, I promptly came down with a nasty cold, so I didn't get to wear this any further than my front yard.

The glitter is "Golden Enchantment" and the Art pen I picked up at the Dollar Tree.

There is the ES drag I was talking about...ooo and a little staining on my nails...eep!

Anywhoo...

I liked it so much, I tried again. This time going for a "snowy" effect.
I used, OPI "Dazzled by Gold" Zoya "Snowsicle", Golden Enchantment, City Lights and a silver Art Pen.
Behold:
I liked this one, but I didn't notice how sheer DbG was until I was outside.

Definitely had the chilly/frosty/sparkly snow effect I was looking for!
